Training & Behavior

Hungarian Vizslas are smart, sensitive, and eager to please—but they thrive best with structure. They respond incredibly well to positive reinforcement, consistency, and human connection. Harsh training methods don’t work here; Vizslas want to collaborate, not be commanded. With early training and mental stimulation, you’ll have a focused, loyal, and wonderfully well-mannered companion.

Walking & Exercise

This is not a couch-potato breed. Vizslas were bred for endurance and speed, which means daily exercise is non-negotiable. Long walks, off-leash runs, hikes, and games of fetch help burn energy and keep their minds balanced. A tired Vizsla is a happy Vizsla—and a much less mischievous one.

Dog Sitting & Holidays

Vizslas are famously known as “velcro dogs” because they form strong bonds with their humans. They don’t love being alone for long stretches, so planning ahead for trips and holidays is key. Whether it’s trusted sitters, familiar environments, or staying with people they know, Vizslas do best when they feel secure and connected—even when you’re away.

Grooming & Healthcare

Good news: Vizslas are low-maintenance when it comes to grooming. Their short coat sheds lightly and only needs occasional brushing. Regular nail trims, ear checks, and dental care go a long way. With proper exercise, nutrition, and routine vet visits, Vizslas are generally healthy dogs with long, active lives.
